The context of our curricular at General Certificate of Education (G.C.E.) are heavy in technical content with less weightage embed towards education on workplace skills. On the flipside, in Sri Lanka, the Youth unemployment of 15-24 age group, is a well-known obstacle in Sri Lanka with a rate of 18.5% in 2017 exceeding the global rate of 13%. The youth unemployment rate is 4 times higher than the overall unemployment rate, and 50% of the total unemployment in Sri Lanka is in the youth category (Sri Lanka Labour Force Survey Annual Report 2017).
